Spring
Decent signs of spring around Uni at the moment with the arrival of the first Little Ringed Plover at Hes East, where there are also 3 Redshank, 2 Oystercatchers and a Green Sandpiper. Also campus full of singing birds - a first Chiffchaff for me yesterday, and this cracking little Wren.

Waders UK
A selection of waders on Heslington East retention basin over the last few weeks. Hopefully the spring will bring a few more birds and a few more sunny days in which to photo them..

First records of Black Tern, Willet and Snowy Plover for Queretaro
A short paper on my records of Black Tern, Willet and Snowy Plover was published in HUITZIL - Journal of Mexican Ornithology today.

Take home message is the previous level of under-recording at reservoirs such as El Centenario, and hence the unrecognised importance of these water bodies for birds..
